You can enter the size of a typical web page (or a typical visit) on your site, or you can have this checked automatically by providing a URL or a file.
Choose a duration, such as hourly or daily, and estimate how many hits (or visits, if you prefer) your site will receive during that time. Then use the resulting bandwidth estimate to help you in finding the right host for your needs.
Having plenty of bandwidth is a good thing, but uptime and quality service are even more important, and traffic allowances are often subject to usage limits in other forms.
